Breaking Out Of The Clutter On the Internet and Standing Out

Breaking out of the clutter doesn’t require you to spend thousands of dollars on social media and search sites. With some planning, innovation, and being unique your chances of standing out amongst the crowd increases greatly.

COMPARE YOURSELF TO YOUR COMPETITORS

By looking at what your competition is doing, specifically, the competition that may be kicking your butt in the market you can see what they are doing and “borrow” some of their techniques into your own. Look at what their marketing efforts are currently doing? What exactly is it that they are doing? What is just the same old noise and what is actually working? How can you take what they are doing and make it uniquely yours? You want to make sure that you are not losing your voice by doing this, sending mixed messages to your clientele could lower the trust that you have built up with them. Remember, we are in the age of a globalized world. Don’t limit your searches on local companies, think much broader and especially those companies that have gigantic marketing budgets.

ENGAGE, ENGAGE, ENGAGE

Making a post and engaging with your audience is much more powerful than a static photo and or a message. Having unique and engaging content for your audience that is tailored to them has a much more powerful and lasting impression. Engage your audience by asking them questions and how they feel on the topic that you are presenting. Another example of having you customers get engaged is possibly having them share a link or a photo that you have posted and offering them a discount. You can use your imagination here; the possibilities are limitless.

TRY AND LOOK PAST THE PRODUCT

If you are only pushing your product 100 percent of the time and being extremely salesy people will tune you out fast. What is important is creating content that is relevant, interesting, and creates engagement with your audience. Concentrate on their what problems, interests or concerns that they may have and they will keep coming back.

don’T TRY AND JUMP IN ON A TREND, TRY AND STAY AHEAD OF IT

Marketing moves at incredible speed; you need to be aware of what is happening right now and get moving; remember be proactive and not reactive. For instance, just last week there was an NBA player that was making news basically for not living up to his and his team’s expectations. What triggered the social media response was the player getting kicked out of a game while throwing a fit and the other players on the team laughing at him. Now if you post about sports, you can clearly see that this is going to get some attention. Therefore, jumping on the internet and creating some content on it before the rest of the crowd makes you have a good chance of going viral. Keep your eyes peeled out there, especially if you’re a content creator, being first and creating the trend has gigantic rewards.

GENERATE BUZZ BY GETTING PEOPLE TALKING

Giving something for people to talk and garner interest creates buzz. The most effective topics to get people talking are those that are disputed, rare, exceptional, scandalous, humorous, or secret. The importance of a viral post is critical to your content creating career. A study determined that 2/3 of buying decisions are primarily influenced by word-of-mouth; 90% of consumers view word-of-mouth as the most reliable and credible source for information about products and services. Be careful though, don’t create negative buzz! Be smart and somewhat measured when posting.

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CONENT IN APPEALING

Tell a story that many people in your audience can relate to. Share real examples and case studies what will address their concerns and interests. Strike an emotional chord with relatable and impactful content.

Make your audience take action

Once you have your audience’s attention, make sure to have a call to action. The most successful content creators always have a call to action. Sometimes they really push the call to action if they have an established audience already.

BE in as many places on the internet as possible

For many of us this may be a bit impossible, just on the sheer logistics of it. However, getting your content out there as many places as possible and creating a large swath of audience over many platforms is a great way to drive traffic to your site to make that sale.
