Remastered Episode 5: A Giving Spirit

In today’s episode, I explore the question of who is more likely to succeed: the hard-driving individual who doesn’t mind stepping on others, or the nice guy who helps those around them?

I dive into research by Professor Adam Grant, who studied this very topic and found that, while nice guys do sometimes finish last, the aggressive, self-serving types don’t come out on top either.

Grant’s study identifies three types of people: Takers, who are aggressive and self-focused; Matchers, who help others but keep score with an “I scratch your back, you scratch mine” mentality; and Givers, those who help without expecting anything in return. Tune in to learn which type might be the most successful in the long run and how these insights can be applied to business and life.
